DALI
DALI — Danish Audiophile Loudspeaker Industries — was founded in 1983 by Peter Lyngdorf in Denmark, with the goal of producing loudspeakers that reproduce music as honestly as possible. The company grew out of Scandinavia's leading audio retail chain, Hi-Fi Klubben, and in 1986 established its first dedicated factory, which over the following decades expanded four times.
DALI's engineering approach centres on a set of core acoustic principles, including temporal coherence — coordinating driver emissions across the frequency range to minimise distortion — and on-axis speaker positioning to reduce high-frequency distortion. The company assembles its loudspeakers by hand at individual workstations, applying rigorous testing to every unit, and maintains the majority of its production in Denmark.
DALI began exporting internationally in 1990, opened its first overseas office in Germany in 2001, and followed with a UK presence in 2005. The company's products have been recognised with multiple EISA awards between 2010 and 2015, and DALI is today represented in more than 65 countries. The range spans affordable entry-level loudspeakers through to the flagship Megaline series.
