The DALI Sonik Cinema is a dedicated home cinema loudspeaker from the Sonik series, DALI's most comprehensive range of affordable speakers. Sitting alongside the Sonik 1, 3, 5, 7, 9 and On-Wall models, the Cinema is purpose-built for LCR and surround duty, bringing technologies derived from DALI's flagship EPICON platform to a more accessible price point.
Driver Technology
The Sonik Cinema employs a 2-way configuration with a 29mm ultra-light soft dome tweeter and dual 5¼-inch Clarity Cone woofers. The Clarity Cone membrane uses a proprietary blend of paper and wood fibre, engineered to minimise coloration whilst delivering wide dynamic range. The tweeter features a newly developed aluminium faceplate designed to extend bandwidth and improve dispersion across the upper midrange and treble.
SMC Essential Magnet System
At the heart of the Sonik Cinema’s driver assembly is DALI’s SMC Essential Magnet System, derived from the EPICON series. This hybrid iron/SMC pole-piece design places the Soft Magnetic Compound directly in the voice coil’s working zone, reducing third-order harmonic distortion. The result is a cleaner, more detailed midrange with lower hysteresis and eddy current losses compared to conventional ferrite magnet assemblies.
Cabinet & Placement
The enclosure is a bass reflex design tuned to 46 Hz, with dual-flare front-firing ports that reduce turbulence and optimise timing. The cabinet is constructed from CNC-machined MDF with rigid internal bracing and finished in high-grade vinyl. A rotatable logo badge on the front baffle allows the Sonik Cinema to be oriented in both landscape and portrait positions, making it equally suited to centre channel, left/right, or surround roles in a home cinema system. DALI recommend placement 0–50 cm from the rear wall on a stand or shelf.
