The SR60x is the entry point to Grado’s Prestige Series and the most affordable headphone in the Brooklyn-built lineup. Despite sitting at the base of the range, it uses the same fourth-generation driver platform introduced across the entire X Series revision, sharing its core engineering with the SR80x, SR125x, SR225x and SR325x above it.
Fourth-Generation Driver
The X Series driver redesign centres on three changes: a more powerful magnetic circuit, a voice coil with reduced effective mass, and a reconfigured diaphragm. Together these improve efficiency and lower distortion, helping the SR60x reproduce harmonic detail and midrange texture with the immediacy that defines the Grado sound. The 44 mm dynamic transducer is matched to within ±0.1 dB between left and right channels.
Cable and Headband
The SR60x uses a fixed four-conductor cable wound from super annealed copper, replacing the previous generation’s wiring for improved signal purity. A 3.5 mm jack is fitted as standard, with a 6.35 mm adapter included for use with hi-fi amplifiers and headphone stages. The headband has been redesigned with a thicker faux-leather cushion for improved comfort during extended listening.
Open-Back Design
Like all Grado headphones, the SR60x is an open-back, on-ear design intended for home listening. The open acoustic architecture allows air to move freely around the driver, producing a naturally spacious presentation. S Cushion foam earpads are fitted as standard. Every SR60x is hand assembled at Grado’s facility in Brooklyn, New York.
