QED
QED — Quality Electronic Design — was founded in 1973 by Bob Abraham and Ian Vine, establishing one of the longest-standing specialist cable brands in the audio industry. In 1976, the company introduced the QED 79 Strand speaker cable, widely recognised as the world's first specialist loudspeaker cable, and one of the products that demonstrated conclusively that cable design could have a meaningful impact on audio performance.
The company has consistently grounded its development in scientific research. In 1995, QED published the Genesis Report on loudspeaker cable design, establishing principles that are scientifically validated and which continue to underpin the company's engineering approach. QED applies top-down design principles, using computer-aided design techniques and extensive comparative testing to deliver products with measurable performance at every price point.
Today QED produces a wide range of audio and video cables spanning speaker cables, analogue interconnects, digital cables, HDMI, USB, Ethernet, and power cables. Proprietary technologies including X-Tube conductor design, Ferrite insulation for jitter reduction, Glasscore optical construction, and Complimentary Conductor Technology are applied across product tiers from the entry-level Profile range to the flagship Signature series. QED products are distributed across more than 43 countries.
