Pro-Ject Stereo Box E Silver

The Stereo Box E sits at the base of Pro-Ject's Box Design electronics family, below the Uni Box S3 streaming amplifier. It is a compact integrated Hi-Fi amplifier combining a fully analogue preamp with a built-in phono stage, DAC, and Bluetooth receiver, and is built around a brushed aluminium front panel with aluminium control buttons. Made in Europe.

Inputs for Every Source

The Stereo Box E provides seven inputs covering the full range of analogue and digital sources. The phono MM input accepts moving-magnet, moving-iron, and high-output MC cartridges via a grounded RCA connection. Analogue line-level sources connect via a stereo RCA pair or a 3.5mm jack. Digital inputs include two optical TOSLINK sockets and one coaxial S/PDIF socket. Wireless streaming is handled by Bluetooth 5.0 with aptX and aptX HD codec support, suitable for CD-quality and high-resolution audio over Bluetooth.

Practical Features

A dedicated subwoofer output on RCA allows the Stereo Box E to integrate with an active subwoofer without an external crossover. The 6.35mm headphone output is auto-switching, muting the speaker outputs when headphones are connected. A USB-C socket provides bus power to connected streamers or digital sources, removing the need for a separate power adapter. Volume is controlled by a motor-driven potentiometer that can be adjusted using the included Control it 1 remote handset.
