The Pro-Ject Speaker Box 10 E Carbon is a compact floorstanding speaker that delivers a genuinely audiophile performance from a slim, elegant cabinet. Featuring two specially developed 4" fibre glass carbon composite bass/mid drivers paired with a 1" silk dome tweeter, it delivers a flat, natural frequency response from 48 Hz to 20 kHz — giving it a powerful, well-extended bass that you would not expect from its slender dimensions.
The carbon composite drivers are at the heart of what makes the Speaker Box 10 E Carbon stand out. The fibre glass carbon cone material offers an ideal combination of stiffness and low mass, resulting in an ultra-transparent and detailed sound stage with pinpoint imaging. Vocals and instruments are precisely placed, and the wide, deep stereo image lets you hear right into a recording.
The cabinet is constructed from ultra-stiff, non-resonating MDF, keeping unwanted colouration to an absolute minimum. A 2-way crossover built with high-quality components on a genuine PCB ensures the two drivers work in perfect harmony, handing over seamlessly through the midrange. The rear-firing bass reflex port is tuned to support the low end without overhang or boom, and gold-plated banana terminals ensure a secure, low-resistance connection.
Aesthetically, the Speaker Box 10 E Carbon is clean and uncluttered. There are no visible screws on the front baffle, and the included magnetic speaker grills attach without a trace of fixings. The speakers ship with a solid outrigger base fitted with adjustable spikes, adding stability and allowing precise levelling on any floor surface.
Pro-Ject recommends pairing the Speaker Box 10 E Carbon with an amplifier delivering at least 10 watts per channel — making it compatible with a very wide range of integrated amplifiers, including Pro-Ject's own MaiA S3 and DS3. The speaker is sold as a stereo pair.
