The Pro-Ject E1.2 is a plug and play entry-level audiophile turntable that brings serious hi-fi engineering to an accessible price point. Handmade in Europe, it pairs a 730 g die-cast aluminium platter with a CNC machined aluminium tonearm and the pre-fitted Pick it MM E moving-magnet cartridge, all factory adjusted and ready to play straight from the box.
The heavy die-cast aluminium platter is reworked and precision balanced in an extra step to deliver evenly spinning rotation and an anti-resonant platform for vinyl. A glass-fibre reinforced ABS sub-platter rides on a stainless steel axle in a bronze bushing for low noise running, while a damped DC motor and high quality belt drive support stable playback at 33 and 45 RPM. Speed is changed electronically without lifting the platter belt.
The 8.6 inch aluminium tonearm uses a high-mass gimbal bearing with zero play and a stiff carbon-reinforced headshell, while the oversized counterweight sits close to the pivot to improve tracking. Tracking force and anti-skating are pre-set by Pro-Ject's technicians, so no tools or adjustment are needed. The Pick it MM E uses a low-mass neodymium generator and conical diamond tip for warm, low-noise playback.
The MDF plinth has no hollow spaces to reduce unwanted resonance and rests on four damping feet that decouple the deck from the surface beneath. A clear dust cover, 15 V DC power supply, 7 inch single adaptor and high quality phono cable are included. The E1.2 is also available in High Gloss Black and Satin White finishes.
