The Pro-Ject Colourful Audio System E is an entry-level all-in-one analogue hi-fi stereo system that sits below the Colourful Audio System 2 in Pro-Ject's range. Everything needed for a complete vinyl listening system is included in a single box: the Debut E belt-drive turntable, the Stereo Box E integrated amplifier, a pair of Speaker Box 5 E Carbon bookshelf speakers, and 2x 3-metre LS E Flex speaker cables with gold-plated banana plugs.
Debut E Turntable
The Debut E is designed around the fundamentals of correct turntable engineering: a belt-drive mechanism with electronic speed change for 33, 45, and 78 RPM, a 300mm steel platter running on a stainless-steel axle in a bronze bushing, and an 8.6-inch one-piece aluminium tonearm with an effective length of 218.5mm. The deck is built by hand in Europe and is designed to last a lifetime. A dust cover, 78 RPM round belt, and 7-inch single adapter are included, along with a 15V DC power supply.
Stereo Box E Amplifier
The Stereo Box E is a compact integrated amplifier delivering 2x 40W into 4 ohms. It includes a built-in moving-magnet phono stage with a dedicated RCA input and grounding screw, a line-level RCA input, a 3.5mm auxiliary input, and wireless streaming via Bluetooth with aptX and aptX HD codec support. A remote control and outboard 20V/3A power supply are supplied. Standby power consumption is under 0.5W.
Speaker Box 5 E Carbon
The Speaker Box 5 E Carbon is a two-way bass reflex bookshelf speaker with a rear-firing port. The cabinet is constructed from ultra-stiff, non-resonating MDF and houses a 1-inch silk dome tweeter paired with a 5-inch carbon fibre glass composite woofer. The combination delivers a frequency response of 65Hz to 20kHz and a sensitivity of 86dB at 1W/1m. Nominal impedance is 4 ohms and the recommended amplifier power range is 10 to 150 watts. Speaker grilles are supplied.
Ready Out of the Box
All components arrive in a single co-ordinated Satin Golden Yellow finish (turntable plinth and speakers), with the Stereo Box E in black. The LS E Flex speaker cables use high-purity oxygen-free copper conductors with gold-plated banana plugs, and are pre-terminated at 3 metres per channel for a straightforward setup.
