The AudioQuest Rocket 11 is the entry point to AudioQuest's Rocket series of speaker cables, sitting below the Rocket 22, Rocket 33, Rocket 44 and Rocket 88 in the range hierarchy. This listing is the white PVC jacket version, priced per metre and supplied unterminated, cut to length from the reel, so you can apply your own preferred terminations, whether banana plugs, spades or bare wire. Construction and Materials

At its core, the Rocket 11 uses Semi-Solid Concentric Long-Grain Copper (LGC) conductors in a 14 AWG gauge. Long-Grain Copper has fewer oxides and fewer grain boundaries than standard OFHC copper, which AudioQuest says allows a smoother and clearer sound. The semi-solid concentric packing keeps the individual strands within the bundle in fixed relationships rather than letting them change position, significantly reducing the distortion caused by strand interaction.

Geometry and Noise Control

The Rocket 11 employs Double Spiral-Pair Geometry, in which the two conductors in each half of the cable are twisted around one another. Compared with a conventional parallel-conductor layout, which has fairly high inductance, this spiral arrangement provides lower inductance, greater clarity and superior bass-to-treble frequency extension. The PVC insulation is chosen to minimise energy absorption, and all conductors are directionally controlled for RF-noise management.

Versatility

The Rocket 11 can be terminated for full-range use or as a single bi-wire run, so it suits speakers with separate bass and treble binding posts as well as conventional single-wired pairs. What Hi-Fi? singles out its flexibility, describing it as easy to bend around tight corners to reach your equipment, which makes it straightforward to route neatly in a domestic installation. The white jacket is the same cable as the black version, differing only in the colour of the PVC jacket, and is the easier choice against pale walls, skirting and carpets.
