AudioQuest
AudioQuest was founded in 1980 by William (Bill) Low in Irvine, California. Low had begun making custom audio cables for his hi-fi shop two years earlier, and in 1980 established AudioQuest as a dedicated manufacturer for the wider market. The company's guiding principle from the outset has been described as "Do No Harm" — ensuring that cables and components introduce the least possible noise and distortion, and allow music to pass through as unimpeded as technology allows.
AudioQuest was the first American high-performance cable company to introduce advanced conductor technology in the form of 6N (99.9999% pure) copper and linear crystal copper, material choices that remain central to the brand's engineering approach. The company sources its copper and silver conductor materials from the United States, and employs a clean-room production line with hand assembly and cold-weld wire terminations for its higher-specification products.
Although best known for its comprehensive range of analogue, digital, HDMI, and AC power cables, AudioQuest has expanded its portfolio to include the multi-award-winning DragonFly USB DAC range and the Niagara and PowerQuest power management products. The company distributes its products internationally and continues to be led by its founder, operating as part of The Quest Group.
