The WiiM Pro Plus sits at the top of WiiM's streamer range, above the entry-level WiiM Mini and the standard WiiM Pro. Where the Pro uses an ESS Sabre DAC, the Pro Plus upgrades to the AKM AK4493SEQ — a premium converter built on AKM's Velvet Sound architecture, delivering 120 dB signal-to-noise ratio and THD+N of -110 dB. The result is a streamer that competes with dedicated DACs costing several times its price, while retaining the compact form factor and comprehensive feature set that define the WiiM range.

Audio Performance

The AKM AK4493SEQ DAC supports PCM audio up to 24-bit/192kHz, providing bit-perfect playback from all major streaming services. On the input side, the TI Burr-Brown PCM1861 ADC handles analogue-to-digital conversion at up to 192kHz/32-bit, meaning sources connected via the RCA line input — such as a turntable with phono stage or a CD player — benefit from high-quality digitisation for multiroom distribution or recording.

Connectivity

The rear panel carries a comprehensive set of connections for a unit of this size. Analogue output is via RCA stereo, feeding directly into an amplifier or pair of active speakers. Digital output options include both optical SPDIF and coaxial, allowing the Pro Plus to serve as a high-quality transport for an external DAC or AV receiver. Inputs mirror this flexibility: an RCA stereo line input and an optical SPDIF input let you route external sources through the WiiM ecosystem for multiroom playback or room calibration.

An Ethernet port provides a wired network connection for the most stable streaming performance, while dual-band Wi-Fi 5 (2.4 GHz and 5 GHz) and Bluetooth 5.1 cover wireless connectivity. A USB-C port handles power, and a 3.5mm trigger output enables automated power-on of connected amplifiers.

Streaming & Smart Features

The Pro Plus supports an extensive list of streaming services and protocols: Spotify Connect, TIDAL Connect, Amazon Music, Deezer, Qobuz, TuneIn, iHeartRadio and internet radio are all available natively. AirPlay 2, Chromecast Audio and DLNA provide universal casting from any device, while Roon Ready certification opens the door to Roon's library management and signal path transparency. Voice control is available through Alexa, Siri and Google Assistant.

The WiiM Home app (iOS and Android) provides setup, streaming control, EQ adjustment, preset management and multiroom grouping. A built-in microphone enables automated room calibration, measuring the acoustic characteristics of your listening space and adjusting the output accordingly. The included IR remote control covers transport, volume and source selection without needing a phone.
