The WiiM Amp Pro sits above the standard WiiM Amp in the range, combining a significantly upgraded DAC and amplifier circuit with the same compact, streaming-first platform. Where the Amp uses a generic DAC stage, the Amp Pro is built around the ESS Sabre ES9038Q2M, a premium chip that implements ESS's 32-bit HyperStream architecture to deliver an analogue output Signal-to-Noise Ratio of 120 dB and a THD+N of -105 dB (0.0005%) at 5 W. The result is a measurably cleaner output that complements high-resolution source material up to PCM 384 kHz/32-bit and DSD512.
Amplifier and Thermal Design
The amplification stage is based on the Texas Instruments TPA3255 Class-D chip, rated at 60 watts per channel into 8 ohms or 120 watts per channel into 4 ohms. TI's TPA3255 is a high-efficiency design notable for its very low idle current draw, and in the Amp Pro it is accompanied by a hybrid heatsink combining copper, aluminium, and graphene for improved thermal dissipation. A Texas Instruments PCM1861 ADC provides the analogue input conversion path, achieving 110 dB SNR for sources connected via the RCA line input.
Connectivity
Inputs include HDMI ARC (supporting stereo PCM and Dolby Digital, up to 192 kHz/24-bit), an optical digital input with the same format support, and an RCA analogue line input (2 Vrms, ADC up to 192 kHz/24-bit). A USB port on the rear accepts storage devices for local media playback, supporting FAT32, NTFS, and EXT4 file systems; the same USB port provides a 5 V/1.5 A power output. Audio outputs comprise the speaker terminals (banana plug compatible, two pairs), a sub out at 2.0 Vrms for connecting an active subwoofer, and a USB audio output at up to 192 kHz/24-bit via UAC 2.0. Wired networking is available via the Gigabit Ethernet port alongside the Wi-Fi 6 radio, which can be upgraded to Wi-Fi 6E via a firmware update.
Streaming and Smart Home
The Amp Pro is controlled through the WiiM Home app for iOS and Android, which provides access to over 50 streaming services, internet radio, and NAS library playback. Native integrations include Spotify Connect, TIDAL Connect, Google Cast Audio, Amazon Music Cast (Alexa Cast), DLNA, and Roon Ready. The device works with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant for voice control, and can be grouped with other WiiM devices or compatible third-party smart speakers for whole-home audio. The 10-band graphic EQ and 4-band parametric EQ, together with 24 preset curves, are adjustable per input source within the app. Room correction is included.
In the Box
The WiiM Amp Pro is supplied with a WiiM Voice Remote, a 1.5 m HDMI cable, a 1.5 m RCA audio cable, a 1.5 m optical audio cable, and a mains power cable. No separate streamer is required; everything needed to connect a pair of passive speakers to your home network is included.
