The Wharfedale Evo 5.4 HCP is a 5.1 home cinema speaker package built entirely from the Evo 5 range, pairing the Evo 5.4 floorstanding speakers as front channels with Evo 5.1 bookshelf surrounds, the Evo 5-C centre speaker, and the SW-10 active subwoofer. All four Evo 5 cabinets share the same driver technology, including AMT tweeters and black woven Kevlar cone drivers, ensuring tonal consistency across every channel. The Evo 5.4 HCP steps up from the Evo 5.3 HCP with larger 165mm bass drivers in the front floorstanders, offering deeper bass extension and greater dynamic headroom.
Front Channels: Evo 5.4 Floorstanding (Pair)
The Evo 5.4 is a three-way floorstanding design using a 35x70mm Air Motion Transformer (AMT) tweeter, a 50mm soft-dome midrange driver, and twin 165mm black woven Kevlar bass drivers. Bass loading is handled by Wharfedale's slot-loaded profiled port system. Sensitivity is 90dB (2.83V/1m) and nominal impedance is 4 Ohm (8 Ohm compatible), with a frequency response of 42Hz to 24kHz. Recommended amplifier power is 30 to 200W. Each cabinet weighs 31.2kg and stands 1028mm tall on its plinth and spikes.
Surround Channels: Evo 5.1 Bookshelf (Pair)
The Evo 5.1 is a compact two-way standmount speaker using the same 35x70mm AMT tweeter and a single 130mm Kevlar bass driver in a bass-reflex cabinet. With 87dB sensitivity and a frequency response of 56Hz to 24kHz, it delivers consistent tonal character with the front channels. Power handling is 25 to 100W. Each cabinet weighs 8.0kg and stands 340mm tall on its plinth.
Centre Channel: Evo 5-C
The Evo 5-C uses twin 130mm Kevlar bass drivers flanking the AMT tweeter in a wide horizontal cabinet, optimised for dialogue clarity. Sensitivity is 89dB (2.83V/1m) with a frequency response of 56Hz to 24kHz, and power handling of 25 to 120W. The cabinet measures 188mm tall by 520mm wide and weighs 12.5kg.
Subwoofer: SW-10 Active
The SW-10 is a 10-inch active subwoofer with a 200W continuous (350W peak) amplifier and a crossover variable from 30 to 150Hz. Its infinite baffle loading and long-throw 250mm cone driver are designed for tight, accurate bass. Inputs include stereo line in (two RCA) and a dedicated mono LFE input. The SW-10 is supplied in Black regardless of the package finish colour.
Shared Technology
All Evo 5 speakers incorporate Wharfedale's AMT tweeters with Silentweave acoustic material behind the diaphragm, and ResoFrame elastomer damping around the driver surrounds to suppress cabinet resonance. The four matched channels of the Evo 5.4 HCP are designed to work together as a coherent system, with the front floorstanders capable of full-range stereo performance when the package is used without the subwoofer active.
