EVO 5 Series Technology
The EVO 5 Series builds on the multi-award-winning EVO4 platform, incorporating technologies that originated from Wharfedale's flagship Elysian loudspeakers. Every satellite speaker in the package features the proprietary EVO AMT (Air Motion Transformer) high-frequency unit: a pleated diaphragm driver that offers exceptional accuracy, speed and low distortion compared to conventional dome tweeters. Wharfedale has further refined the AMT for this generation, adding Silentweave, a specially developed cotton and felt damping material behind the diaphragm, and the ResoFrame elastomer mounting system to reduce unwanted vibrations at the driver interface.
Front Left and Right: EVO 5.3 Floorstanding Speakers (x2)
The EVO 5.3 is a 3-way floorstanding speaker combining two 130mm Black Woven Kevlar bass drivers, a 50mm soft-dome midrange unit and the 35 x 70mm AMT tweeter. The enlarged bass-reflex cabinet incorporates the three-directional Slot Loaded Profiled Port (SLPP) at the base, improving low-frequency extension and reducing port turbulence. A hybrid metal and wood plinth provides structural stability and decouples the cabinet from the floor. Frequency response extends from 46Hz to 24kHz, with sensitivity of 88dB and nominal impedance of 4 ohms.
Centre Channel: EVO 5.C (x1)
The EVO 5.C is a 2-way centre speaker using the same 130mm Kevlar bass drivers (x2) and AMT tweeter technology as the floorstanding models, ensuring tonal consistency across the front soundstage. Its compact horizontal cabinet fits neatly beneath or above a television. The EVO 5.C covers 56Hz to 24kHz and is rated at 89dB sensitivity, making it easy to drive from virtually any AV receiver.
Surround Speakers: EVO 5.1 Bookshelf (x2)
The EVO 5.1 is a compact 2-way bookshelf speaker that uses a single 130mm Kevlar bass driver and the AMT tweeter. Designed for use on stands or wall brackets, the EVO 5.1 delivers the same high-frequency character as the front speakers for a seamless surround experience. Frequency response is 56Hz to 24kHz, with sensitivity of 87dB.
Subwoofer: Wharfedale SW-10 (x1)
The SW-10 is an active dynamic-drive subwoofer using a 250mm long-throw driver driven by a 200W amplifier module. The SW-10 reproduces bass from 40Hz to 120Hz, with crossover adjustment from 30Hz to 150Hz, phase inversion control and auto on/off circuitry. Stereo line-level inputs and a dedicated mono LFE input allow flexible integration with any AV system.
