The Wharfedale Evo 5.3 HCP is a 5.1 home cinema speaker package built entirely from the Evo 5 range, pairing the Evo 5.3 floorstanding speakers as front channels with Evo 5.1 bookshelf surrounds, the Evo 5-C centre speaker, and the SW-10 active subwoofer. All four Evo 5 cabinets share the same driver and cabinet technology, ensuring a consistent tonal character across every channel.
Front Channels: Evo 5.3 Floorstanding (Pair)
The Evo 5.3 is a three-way floorstanding design using a 35x70mm AMT tweeter, a 50mm soft-dome midrange driver, and twin 130mm black woven Kevlar bass drivers. Bass loading is handled by Wharfedale's Slot Loaded Profiled Port (SLPP) system. Sensitivity is 88dB and nominal impedance is 4 Ohm (8 Ohm compatible), with a frequency response of 46Hz to 24kHz.
Surround Channels: Evo 5.1 Bookshelf (Pair)
The Evo 5.1 is a compact two-way standmount speaker using the same AMT tweeter and a single 130mm Kevlar bass driver in a bass-reflex cabinet. With 87dB sensitivity and a frequency response of 56Hz to 24kHz, the Evo 5.1 makes an equally capable stereo speaker or bookshelf surround.
Centre Channel: Evo 5-C
The Evo 5-C uses twin 130mm Kevlar bass drivers flanking the AMT tweeter in a wide horizontal cabinet, optimised for dialogue reproduction. Sensitivity is 89dB with a frequency response of 56Hz to 24kHz, giving it the highest output efficiency in the package.
Subwoofer: SW-10 Active
The SW-10 is a 10-inch active subwoofer with a 200W continuous (350W peak) amplifier, a crossover variable from 30 to 150Hz, and phase inversion control. Its IB (Infinite Baffle) loading and non-pressed paper cone driver are designed for tight, accurate bass rather than pure output. The SW-10 is supplied in Black regardless of the package finish.
Shared Technology
All Evo 5 speakers incorporate AMT tweeters with Silentweave acoustic material behind the diaphragm, ResoFrame elastomer damping frames on every driver, and Resoseal midrange optimisation on the bass/midrange cones. Cabinet volumes have been increased over the Evo 4 generation to extend bass reach and improve dispersion.
