The SVS Prime 5.1 System sits in the Prime range, SVS's more affordable passive speaker series and the step below the flagship Ultra Evolution line. It gathers five Prime Satellite speakers and one SB-1000 Pro subwoofer into a single 5.1 package intended for small to medium size rooms, with satellites voiced to blend with other SVS Prime and Ultra models.
Prime Satellite Speakers
Each satellite is a two-way design pairing a 1-inch aluminium dome tweeter, fitted with an FEA-optimised diffuser, with a 4.5-inch polypropylene cone mid-bass driver mounted in its own completely sealed compartment. The SVS SoundMatch 2-way crossover hands over at 2.3kHz with 12dB/octave slopes and uses premium-grade capacitors and air-core inductors. Rated bandwidth is 69Hz-25kHz (±3dB), with 85dB sensitivity, 8 ohms nominal impedance and a recommended amplifier power of 20 to 150 watts, so the satellites suit everything from a modest AV receiver to far heftier separates. The cabinet combines an extra-thick, chamfered front baffle that reduces edge diffraction with internal bracing and a 25mm (1-inch) wide-flared rear-firing port. A single set of five-way binding posts, cloth grilles with a pin and cup retention system and a keyway wall-mounting bracket are all supplied, so each speaker can sit on furniture or go straight onto a wall. The cabinets in this version are finished in Piano Gloss White.
SB-1000 Pro Subwoofer
The sealed SB-1000 Pro carries a front-firing 12-inch high-excursion driver with a fibre composite cone, dual ferrite magnet motor and 13.3mm Xmax, driven by the Sledge STA-325D amplifier: 325 watts RMS continuous with 820+ watts peak dynamic power, using a cool-running Class D topology with fully discrete MOSFET output. A 50MHz Analog Devices audio DSP handles the tuning, and the SVS subwoofer app connects over Bluetooth to adjust the low pass filter, a three-band parametric EQ, polarity and room gain, with three customisable presets. Response is quoted at 20Hz-270Hz (±3dB), reaching down to 20Hz, and the cabinet uses an extra-thick MDF front baffle with rigid internal bracing.
What's Included
Two Prime Satellites for the main left and right channels, two more for the surrounds, a fifth for the centre, and one SB-1000 Pro subwoofer. Because all five satellites are the same speaker, tonal character stays consistent as effects pan around the room.
