The Solid Steel S3-3 is a three-shelf hi-fi rack from the S3 Series — Solid Steel’s reference range of hi-fi racks. Built around a modular aluminium-and-steel architecture, the S3 Series is designed to isolate sensitive hi-fi components from airborne and structure-borne vibration.
Construction
The frame combines iron AVP terminals — treated with zinc to eliminate the risk of rust — and anodised aluminium support tubes. Each tube is internally filled with a special damping material to absorb resonance. The shelves are 30mm-thick MDF panels finished in a durable polymer laminate, each measuring 580 × 430mm and rated to support up to 60kg.
Modular Expandability
Shelf spacing is fully adjustable between 145mm and 365mm, accommodating everything from slim streamers and phono stages to tall power amplifiers. The S3 system is designed to grow with your hi-fi: additional shelf kits can be purchased separately and fitted to the existing frame, converting an S3-3 into a four- or five-shelf rack as your system expands.
Isolation and Stability
The rack sits on adjustable stainless steel spikes with M8 threads, allowing precise levelling on uneven floors. A set of S Series Pads — stainless steel floor-protective discs — is included as standard to prevent damage to wooden or tiled surfaces. All hardware is stainless steel throughout, ensuring long-term durability and resistance to corrosion.
