The Solid Steel S3-2 is the entry point to Solid Steel's reference S3 Series of hi-fi racks, designed and manufactured in Italy. Built around the same construction principles as the larger S3-3, S3-4, and S3-5 models, the two-shelf S3-2 suits compact systems where a source component and amplifier need proper isolation without occupying excessive floor space.
Construction
The S3-2 uses anodised aluminium support poles filled internally with StratoCell, a sound-absorbing damping material that reduces resonance transmitted through the frame. Each shelf is constructed from high-quality MDF finished with a durable polymer laminate, measuring 580 × 430 mm with a 30 mm thickness. The base sits on Solid Steel's stainless steel adjustable spikes (M8 thread) for precise levelling and effective mechanical grounding, with stainless steel S Series protective floor discs included.
Modularity
The S3 Series is fully modular. Each shelf level can be adjusted from a minimum height of 145 mm to a maximum of 365 mm between supports, accommodating components of varying sizes. Additional shelves can be added using the S3 custom upright kits, so the rack grows as your system expands — a two-shelf S3-2 can be extended to three, four, or five tiers over time.
Load Capacity
Each shelf supports up to 60 kg, providing ample headroom for heavy integrated amplifiers, turntables, or power supplies.
