Solid Steel S2-5 Hi-Fi Rack (Black)

The S2-5 is the largest rack in Solid Steel's S2 Series — the Italian manufacturer's entry-level range of modular hi-fi furniture. Unveiled at the Bristol Hi-Fi Show 2025 with an upgraded high-quality polymer laminate shelf surface replacing the previous melamine finish, the S2 Series is designed as an accessible starting point for audio enthusiasts who need a sturdy, well-engineered equipment support without the cost of Solid Steel's S3 Reference or S5 Advanced lines.

Construction

Five 22 mm MDF shelves are finished in a durable polymer laminate and mounted on anodised aluminium poles. The hardware connectors are AVP iron treated with zinc to prevent corrosion, and the frame is completed with adjustable stainless steel spikes (M8 thread) for precise levelling on any floor surface. S Series protective floor pads are included to prevent marking hard floors.

Modular Design

Like all S2 racks, the S2-5 is fully modular. Additional shelves and pole sections can be purchased separately, allowing the rack to grow alongside your system. Each shelf provides 500 mm of usable width and 430 mm of depth, with 220 mm of vertical clearance between shelves — sufficient for most full-size hi-fi components. Each shelf is rated to support up to 50 kg.

Every S2 rack is manufactured by Solid Steel MC Group S.r.l., a specialist Italian furniture maker operating since 1990. Each unit undergoes final quality control before dispatch.
