Solid Steel S2-4 Hi-Fi Rack (Black)

The S2-4 is Solidsteel’s entry-level four-shelf hi-fi rack from the S2 series, designed to offer a practical, modular equipment support at an accessible price point. Sitting below the reference S3 and advanced S5 ranges, the S2 series provides the same core Italian build philosophy — adjustable spiked feet, anodised aluminium columns, and laminated MDF shelves — in a more affordable format.

Construction

Each of the four shelves is made from 22 mm ennobled MDF finished with a high-quality polymer laminate in black. The shelves measure 584 × 430 mm, providing a generous footprint for full-width hi-fi separates. Four anodised aluminium poles form the frame, connected with galvanised metal screws and powder-coated metal hardware. The design is fully modular: additional shelves can be purchased and added to the rack after installation, allowing the system to grow alongside an expanding hi-fi collection.

Stability & Levelling

The rack sits on four adjustable M8-threaded stainless steel spikes, allowing precise levelling on uneven floors. A set of S Series Pads — Solidsteel’s protective floor discs — is included to prevent the spikes from marking hardwood, tile, or laminate surfaces. Each shelf supports a maximum load of 50 kg, giving the four-tier rack a total load capacity of 200 kg.

Dimensions

The S2-4 stands 843 mm tall overall (including spikes), with an internal shelf spacing of 220 mm between each tier. The usable width between the aluminium columns is 500 mm. At 584 mm wide and 430 mm deep, the shelves accommodate the majority of standard-width hi-fi components with room for cable routing at the rear.
