Solid Steel HS-4 Hi-Fi Rack (Flat Black)

The Solid Steel HS-4 is a four-shelf hi-fi rack from the Italian manufacturer’s Hyperspike range, designed for larger, multi-component audio systems that demand both structural rigidity and effective vibration control. The HS series uses a distinctive three-pillar tripod geometry rather than the conventional four-leg arrangement, reducing physical contact with the surrounding environment and simplifying levelling on uneven floors. Where the HS-3 accommodates three-box systems, the HS-4 adds a fourth shelf for setups that include a separate phono stage, power supply, or additional source component.

Hyperspike Vibration Control

At the heart of the HS series is Solid Steel’s Hyperspike Vibration Free System. The three stems are constructed from solid stainless steel (INOX) rods, polished to a refined finish. Each pillar incorporates rubber o-ring isolators at the shelf interfaces, designed to minimise the transmission of mechanical energy between shelves and through the frame. Adjustable decoupling spikes with clamping mechanisms allow precise levelling, while stainless steel floor pads protect hard flooring surfaces.

Construction & Capacity

The HS-4 provides four MDF shelves, each rated to support up to 80 kg of equipment. The outer dimensions of 645 × 1010 × 561 mm (W × H × D) accommodate full-width hi-fi components with room to spare. The internal shelf spacing is arranged as 305 mm for the bottom tier and 205 mm for the upper three tiers, allowing taller amplifiers or turntables to sit at the base while standard-height separates occupy the upper levels.

Solid Steel has manufactured hi-fi furniture in Italy since 1990, and the HS series reflects their focus on combining structural performance with visual restraint. The Flat Black finish provides an understated, industrial aesthetic that complements dark-finished audio equipment without drawing attention to the rack itself.
