Ruark R410 Wireless Streaming System Soft Grey

The R410 is the entry point to Ruark’s 100 Series — a premium platform that also includes the R610 Music Console and R810 High Fidelity Radiogram. All three share a common streaming and amplification architecture built around a Burr-Brown 32-bit/192kHz DAC and ADC, Wi-Fi 6, and native support for Spotify Connect, TIDAL Connect, Qobuz Connect, Apple AirPlay 2, and Google Cast. The R410 distinguishes itself as a fully integrated system: amplification and a two-way loudspeaker array are built into the cabinet, requiring no external speakers.

Drive Units and Amplification

The R410 houses two 20mm Ruark silk dome tweeters and two 100mm Ruark NS+ bass-mid woofers in a twin bass reflex enclosure. Total amplification is 120W from a fully active Class-D output stage. The Burr-Brown 32-bit/192kHz DAC handles all digital-to-analogue conversion, with a matching ADC for analogue input digitisation. Adjustable bass and treble controls (±6dB) and a switchable Stereo+ enhancement allow tuning to the room. Typical in-room frequency response is 40Hz to 22kHz.

Streaming, Radio, and Connectivity

Spotify Connect, TIDAL Connect, and Qobuz Connect are built in as native streaming services. Apple AirPlay 2 and Google Cast extend access to Apple Music, Amazon Music, BBC Sounds, Deezer, and other services while also enabling multi-room distribution with compatible devices on the network. Internet Radio, DAB/DAB+, and FM with RDS (76.0–108MHz, multi-region) cover broadcast sources. Wi-Fi 6 (802.11 a/b/g/n/ac/ax, dual-band 2.4GHz and 5GHz) and a wired Ethernet port (RJ45, 10/100 Mbps) provide network access. Bluetooth 5.1 with aptX HD, AAC, and SBC handles wireless audio from source devices, remembering up to eight previously paired connections.

Inputs, Outputs, and Legacy Sources

A dedicated MM phono stage (RCA, 2–7mV adjustable gain) connects a turntable directly without a separate phono pre-amp. A stereo RCA line input (up to 2.3Vrms) accommodates other analogue sources. HDMI ARC/eARC receives TV audio, while an optical input (TOSLINK, up to 24-bit/96kHz PCM) accepts additional digital sources. A USB-C 2.0 port handles audio file playback and device charging — Ruark’s optional R-CD100 CD player also connects via USB. A mono RCA subwoofer output (2.0Vrms) allows adding an external subwoofer. Supported network audio formats include MP3 (up to 48kHz/320kbps), AAC (up to 96kHz/320kbps), FLAC, AIFF, ALAC, and WAV (up to 32-bit/192kHz).

Display and Control

A 4-inch high-contrast colour TFT display with auto-dimming shows source information, album artwork, and metadata in a portrait layout supporting 13 interface languages. The redesigned RotoDial provides tactile source and volume control on the unit itself, while a rechargeable wireless Bluetooth remote requires no line-of-sight aiming. Twenty global presets and eight daily alarms (weekday, weekend, and custom schedules) are supported. Software updates are delivered wirelessly over the air, via LAN, or by USB.

Design and Construction

The Fused Walnut veneer cabinet uses sustainable woods that are expertly spliced, coloured, and recomposed — a conservation-conscious alternative to slow-growing hardwoods that produces a consistent grain pattern resistant to colour change over time. The hand-crafted vertical-slat grille and metal feet complete the design. Three finishes are available: Fused Walnut veneer, Soft Grey lacquer, and Satin Charcoal lacquer, all paired with a Fused Walnut grille.
