Ruark R410 All-In-One Music System (Satin Charcoal)

The Ruark R410 sits at the heart of Ruark Audio's 100 Series — a range of premium integrated music systems that place exceptional sound quality, extensive connectivity and considered British design into a single cabinet. Positioned above the compact R410's smaller siblings, the R410 brings together a fully active amplifier, high-resolution digital-to-analogue conversion, streaming, radio and analogue inputs in a form factor that works equally well on a sideboard, a shelf or a dedicated hi-fi stand.

Design and Construction

The R410 takes its inspiration from classic seventies hi-fi aesthetics, reworked with modern materials and manufacturing precision. The Satin Charcoal version features a charcoal lacquer cabinet paired with a Fused Walnut slatted grille — a combination that gives the unit a warm, organic character while maintaining a contemporary presence in the room. The RotoDial control, mounted centrally on the top panel, is a reimagined version of the classic rotary knob, providing intuitive volume and source control. The high-contrast 4-inch colour TFT display delivers album art, station logos and navigation menus at a glance, with auto-dimming to suit different environments.

Amplification and Acoustics

At the core of the R410 is a fully active 120W Class D amplifier, driving two 100mm Ruark NS+ bass-mid woofers and two 20mm silk dome tweeters housed in a twin bass reflex enclosure. The result is a frequency response of 40Hz to 22kHz in-room. Digital conversion is handled by a Burr-Brown 32-bit 192kHz DAC, capable of resolving audio up to 32-bit/384kHz from file sources, and up to 24-bit/96kHz from the optical input. An adjustable bass and treble control (plus or minus 6dB) and a switchable Stereo+ enhancement mode provide scope for tailoring the sound to the listening environment.

Streaming and Wireless

The R410 supports Apple AirPlay 2 and Google Cast for lossless wireless streaming from compatible apps and devices, alongside Spotify Connect, TIDAL Connect and Qobuz Connect for direct cloud playback without a phone or computer acting as an intermediary. Bluetooth 5.1 with aptX HD, SBC and AAC codec support provides a high-quality wireless link to mobile devices. Wi-Fi covers 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac/ax bands. For multi-room use, the R410 can link with other AirPlay 2 and Google Cast speakers, including other models in the Ruark 100 Series, for synchronised playback throughout the home.

Radio and Wired Inputs

A full radio tuner covers DAB, DAB+ and FM with RDS, along with internet radio via the network connection, giving access to thousands of global stations. Twenty preset positions can be stored. For physical media and analogue sources, the R410 includes an HDMI ARC/eARC input for connection to a television, an optical input (PCM up to 24-bit/96kHz), a stereo RCA line input (up to 2.3Vrms), and a moving magnet phono stage with adjustable gain (2 to 7mV) for connecting a turntable directly. A USB-C port on the rear supports audio playback from USB storage in MP3, AAC, FLAC, AIFF, ALAC and WAV formats at up to 32-bit/192kHz, as well as USB charging. An Ethernet port provides a wired network alternative to Wi-Fi.

System Expansion

The R410's subwoofer output (mono RCA, 2.0Vrms) allows expansion with an active subwoofer such as the Ruark RS1. The USB-C port also supports the optional Ruark R-CD100 CD player for disc playback. A rechargeable Bluetooth remote is included, and the unit supports wireless over-the-air firmware updates. Eight daily alarms and 20 global presets are available for radio listening routines.
