The KEF Ci200TRB is an in-ceiling passive subwoofer designed for custom installation projects where space is at a premium. Part of KEF's Ci architectural range, it brings full-range bass reinforcement to rooms where a conventional freestanding subwoofer would be impractical or undesirable. The round baffle profile fits neatly into a standard circular ceiling cutout, and once fitted with its magnetically attached grille, the Ci200TRB virtually disappears into the ceiling.
Ultra-Thin Profile
The defining characteristic of the Ci200TRB is its exceptionally shallow mounting depth of just 59mm, making it suitable for ceilings with very limited cavity depth. The compact chassis houses an 8-inch (200mm) long-throw woofer within a baffle diameter of just 290mm, requiring a cutout of only 240mm. Installation is simplified by dogleg fittings that secure the driver to a wide range of ceiling materials without requiring specialist enclosures or extensive building work.
Flexible Configuration
As standard, the Ci200TRB operates as a passive subwoofer, allowing you to use any compatible amplifier to drive it. The dual voice coil design supports both mono and stereo operation: in stereo mode each coil presents 8 ohms, while in mono mode the coils are wired together to give 16 ohms. Connecting the Ci200TRB to KEF's KASA500 architectural amplifier converts it to active operation, bypassing the internal passive crossover to deliver an enhanced frequency response of 32Hz to 120Hz with improved control and output.
