The KEF KW1 Wireless Subwoofer Adapter Kit frees your compatible KEF subwoofer from cables, letting you place it anywhere in the room without running a long subwoofer cable across the floor.
What the KW1 Does
The KW1 bridges your amplifier or AV system to your KEF subwoofer using a high-quality 5GHz wireless link. The transmitter connects to the subwoofer output on your amplifier, AV receiver or active speaker system via RCA phono inputs, and sends audio wirelessly to the receiver unit, which plugs directly into the expansion port on the rear of the subwoofer. No long cable runs are needed, and placement is limited only by the range of a local mains socket.
What's Included
The TX/RX kit contains both units required for a complete wireless installation: the KW1 TX transmitter and the KW1 RX receiver. The transmitter is powered via USB (5V, 1A) using either a USB power source or the included mains adaptor. The receiver takes its power directly from the subwoofer's expansion port, so no separate power supply is needed for it. The two units are factory-paired and ready to use straight from the box.
Wireless Performance
Operating in the high-bandwidth 5.2GHz and 5.8GHz frequency bands, the KW1 delivers audio at up to 24-bit/48kHz resolution with a latency of under 17ms, which is low enough to be imperceptible in both music and home cinema use. The signal-to-noise ratio exceeds 80dB and total harmonic distortion is kept to a minimum, ensuring the link adds nothing undesirable to your system's sound. An advanced RF selection algorithm automatically picks the clearest available channel, and operational range extends to 15 metres with a clear line of sight up to 30 metres.
Compatibility
The KW1 is designed for use exclusively with KEF subwoofers and active speaker systems that include an expansion port. Compatible products include the KUBE 8b, KUBE 10b, KUBE 12b, Kube 8 MIE, Kube 10 MIE, Kube 12 MIE, Kube 15 MIE, KC62 and KF92 subwoofers, as well as the LSX II LT, LSX II, LS50 Wireless II and LS60 Wireless active speaker systems. If you only need an additional receiver to run a second subwoofer, the KW1 RX receiver is available separately.
