Where those turntables leave the factory with a standard sub-platter, this precision-machined aluminium replacement brings the drive system noticeably closer to what you would find on more expensive Pro-Ject designs.
Construction
The sub-platter is diamond-cut from solid aluminium and machined to substantially tighter tolerances than the standard component it replaces. The stainless steel spindle is retained, giving a robust bearing interface. Together, aluminium platter and stainless steel spindle weigh 700 g, a meaningful increase over the original, which adds rotational inertia to the entire drive system.
