The Pro-Ject VT-E BT sits within Pro-Ject's entry-level turntable range as a distinctive vertical-playing design with integrated Bluetooth wireless transmission. Based on the Elemental platform, the VT-E BT adds a built-in MM phono stage and Bluetooth 5.2 transmitter to the standard VT-E, enabling wireless connection to any Bluetooth-equipped speaker, amplifier, or headphone without additional hardware.
Vertical Design & Installation
The VT-E BT can be positioned upright on a desk or shelf, or wall-mounted using the included mounting hardware. A supplied record clamp secures the disc against the 300mm MDF platter during vertical playback, preventing slippage. The plinth is also constructed from MDF, chosen for its acoustically neutral properties. In its standing configuration, the turntable measures 430 × 345 × 245mm (W×H×D); wall-mounted, this reduces to 430 × 310 × 130mm.
Drive System & Speed Control
A low-vibration synchronous motor drives the platter via a silicone belt at 33 or 45 RPM, with manual speed selection. The motor runs from a DC power supply and incorporates a built-in AC generator for stable speed regulation. Pro-Ject quotes wow and flutter figures of 0.29% at 33 RPM and 0.27% at 45 RPM, with speed accuracy within 0.8% and 0.7% respectively.
Tonearm & Cartridge
The 8.6-inch aluminium tonearm has an effective length of 218.5mm and an overhang of 22.0mm, with an effective mass of 8.0g. It arrives pre-mounted and pre-adjusted with an Ortofon OM 5E moving magnet cartridge, tracking at a pre-set force of 18mN. The counterweight accommodates cartridges weighing between 3g and 5.5g. No setup is required — the VT-E BT plays straight out of the box.
Built-in Phono Stage & Bluetooth
The integrated MM phono stage provides both wired RCA line-level output and Bluetooth 5.2 wireless output. Both outputs can be used simultaneously, allowing the turntable to feed a wired hi-fi system and a wireless speaker or headphone at the same time. The RCA phono output is also available for connection to an external phono stage if preferred.
