The Pro-Ject VC-S3 7 Inch Record Cleaning Kit is an add-on accessory for the Pro-Ject VC-S3 record cleaning machine. The clamp and vacuum arm supplied with the VC-S3 are designed for 12 inch records only, and Pro-Ject offers this 7 inch kit separately so that owners can clean 7 inch singles on the same machine. It is the VC-S3 version of Pro-Ject's VC 7 inch Kit, which is made in machine-specific versions for the VC-S, VC-S MkII, VC-S2 Alu, VC-S3, VC-E and VC-E2.
Purpose
Seven inch singles have a smaller playing surface and a different label size to a full-size LP, so the standard 12 inch clamp and arm cannot be used with them. This kit provides a dedicated clamp that fits a 7 inch record and a vacuum arm sized for the format, giving full vacuum power across the smaller groove area and, as Henley Audio, Pro-Ject's UK distributor, notes, protecting the differently sized label while maintaining the vacuum seal. Pro-Ject describes the result as optimised cleaning efficiency for 7 inch records.

The kit contains a vacuum arm for 7 inch records with short adhesive velvet strips already included, a clamp for 7 inch records (the standard clamp will not fit) and a spare 100 ml bottle of Wash it 2 vinyl cleaning fluid, the same fluid supplied with the VC-S3 itself.
Compatibility
This is the VC-S3 version of the kit (EAN 9120129860093). Pro-Ject makes the 7 inch kit in separate versions for each machine because the vacuum arm differs between the S-line and E-line models, which mount the arm in different positions on the top of the machine. The older VC-S / VC-S MK2 / VC-S2 Alu kit is not compatible with the VC-S3, and the VC-E2 kit is a different product, so please make sure you order the version that matches your record cleaning machine.
