The Pro-Ject Tuner Box S3 DAB+ is a compact radio tuner designed to bring FM, DAB/DAB+ and internet radio into an existing hi-fi system. It sits within Pro-Ject’s S3 electronics line alongside products such as the Pre Box S3 Digital and Phono Box DS3 B, offering the same half-width form factor and clean aluminium chassis.
Radio Reception & Connectivity
Three reception modes are available: FM for analogue broadcasts, DAB/DAB+ for digital terrestrial radio, and internet radio via the built-in Wi-Fi module (802.11 b/g/n). The internet radio function provides access to worldwide stations without requiring a wired network connection. Station presets can be saved and recalled quickly from the front panel or the included remote control.
Outputs & Headphone Amplifier
The rear panel carries analogue RCA outputs for connection to an amplifier, alongside coaxial S/PDIF and optical TOSLINK digital outputs for use with an external DAC. A front-mounted 6.3mm headphone jack with a built-in amplifier rated at 2× 75 mW into 32 Ω allows private listening directly from the unit.
Sound Shaping
A built-in equaliser offers both ready-to-use presets and a manual 5-band EQ, giving control over the tonal balance to suit different listening environments and preferences.
Build & Design
The Tuner Box S3 DAB+ is designed and built in Europe. At 206 × 55 × 153 mm and 940 g (without the included 9 V DC power supply), it occupies minimal shelf space and pairs visually with other Pro-Ject Box Design components.
