Construction
The sub-platter is precision machined from aluminium using diamond-cut tooling, allowing tolerances that are significantly tighter than those achievable with standard sub-platters. The spindle is manufactured from stainless steel. The combination produces a component that is measurably more consistent and better balanced than the original part it replaces.
Performance Benefits
Adding the aluminium sub-platter increases the total rotating mass of the platter and drive system. This additional mass provides greater flywheel inertia, which damps noise and unwanted resonances more effectively. The improved dimensional tolerances during production increase overall speed accuracy, and the additional mass directly improves short-term speed stability, reducing Wow and Flutter. Compatibility
This version of the upgrade is designed for Pro-Ject The Classic turntables fitted with the standard sub-platter. It is a direct replacement requiring no modification to the turntable. Pro-Ject also offers separate versions of this upgrade for the Debut line and the X1 and X2 turntables.
