Description
Design & Build
The Pro-Ject T2 W builds on the acclaimed T1 formula, adding Wi-Fi streaming capability in a clean, understated Satin Walnut chassis. Assembled in Europe to Pro-Ject's exacting standards, the T2 W is the Austrian brand's first Wi-Fi streaming turntable and winner of the EISA Award for Best Vinyl System 2023/2024. A clear dustcover is supplied as standard.
Drive System and Tonearm
Belt drive maintains acoustic isolation between the motor and platter. The motor runs at precisely controlled speeds for 33 and 45 RPM, changed via a rocker switch on the side of the chassis. The 10 mm thick glass platter weighs 1.7 kg, following Pro-Ject's zero-resonance philosophy by avoiding the acoustic shortcomings of plastic or lightweight steel alternatives. A felt mat is included for gentle record contact. The one-piece 9" aluminium tonearm has an effective length of 230 mm, updated low-friction bearings, and an effective mass of 9.5 g. A Sumiko Rainier MM cartridge is factory fitted and aligned, hand-crafted in Japan for precise instrument and vocal placement. Anti-skating is handled by a newly designed adjustable spring mechanism.
Wi-Fi Streaming and Phono Stage
A dual-stage split-passive MM phono preamplifier is integrated into the chassis, chosen specifically to maximise streaming performance. The T2 W supports the latest WLAN standards (IEEE 802.11a/b/g/n/ac/ax, 2x2 MIMO, 2.4/5 GHz) and can stream to any UPnP-capable device in either compressed MP3 format for maximum compatibility, or in 24-bit/48 kHz lossless FLAC for supported high-end streamers such as the Pro-Ject Stream Box S2 Ultra. Compatible devices include streamers, network-enabled AV receivers, and streaming loudspeakers from brands including Cambridge, Denon, KEF, Marantz, Rotel, Sonos, and WiiM. Setup is handled via Bluetooth Low Energy using the free Pro-Ject Control app, which also selects the streaming destination.
