Awards & Reviews

"The T2 feels and sounds like a huge step up. The internal phono stage is dead silent. Pitch stability is excellent. The combination of low noise floor and naturally spacious presentation combines to pull a gratifying amount of information out of the record." Ed Selley, UK, 2024

"The Super Phono with built-in preamplification is an absolute recommendation. Balanced and open tonal structures and timbres flowed into our listening room, and the dynamics also improved thanks to the in-house Super Phono board." Bernhard Rietschel, Germany, 2024

"Super bang-for-the-buck. The table to beat in its price range. The T2 Super Phono got to the heart and soul of the music. It has as much kick, punch, power, and demonstrative abilities as way more expensive machines. The T2's own phono preamp had warmth and detail retrieval in spades." Ken Micallef, Analog Planet

Description

The Pro-Ject T2 Super Phono is an audiophile entry-level turntable that builds meaningfully on the celebrated T1 formula, introducing a high-quality built-in phono stage and a host of refined engineering details that set new standards at its price point.

At the heart of the T2 Super Phono is a completely new dual-stage split-passive MM phono preamplifier, first seen in the critically acclaimed T2 W and further refined here thanks to the additional PCB space available. The result is an exceptionally low noise floor, outstanding pitch stability, and a naturally spacious presentation that draws a gratifying amount of information from the record groove. The phono stage can also be switched off for use with MC cartridges and a separate phono stage if desired.

Drive comes from a precision belt-drive system with electronic speed change between 33 and 45 RPM, spinning a 10 mm thick, 1.7 kg glass platter on a stainless steel/brass main bearing. The glass platter is supplied with a felt mat. A 9-inch aluminium tonearm with a 230 mm effective length, 22 mm overhang, and 9.5 g effective mass is fitted as standard, complemented by a new adjustable spring-based anti-skating mechanism for optimised tracking.

Included in the box is the Sumiko Rainier MM cartridge, a hand-crafted design made in Japan that places instruments and vocals with precision and natural authority. The package is completed by a dustcover, singles adapter, phono RCA cable, and universal power supply. Made in Europe to Pro-Ject's exacting quality standards, the T2 Super Phono is a long-term proposition built for longevity and sustained listening pleasure.

Available in High Gloss Black, Satin Walnut, and White.
