Description

The Pro-Ject Pick IT MM EVO Stylus is the genuine replacement stylus for the Pick IT MM EVO moving magnet cartridge. The Pick IT MM EVO cartridge is manufactured by Ortofon and voiced by the Pro-Ject Audio Systems design team, sitting at the top of Pro-Ject's Pick IT moving magnet range.

Elliptical Stylus Profile

The replacement stylus features a special elliptical tip with a radius of r/R 8/18 µm, mounted on a strong cantilever derived from high-end DJ cartridges. The elliptical profile traces the groove wall more accurately than a spherical tip, recovering more musical detail with lower distortion. It provides the full frequency response of the cartridge: 20 Hz to 20,000 Hz (+3/-1 dB).

Ortofon Construction

The stylus incorporates Ortofon's well-known split pole pin technology, which enables a flat frequency response comparable to moving coil cartridges. The combination of the split pole pins and this stylus produces a 7 mV output voltage with 22 dB channel separation at 1 kHz, and a tracking ability of 70 µm at 315 Hz.

Fitting and Compatibility

The stylus is designed exclusively for the Pro-Ject Pick IT MM EVO cartridge. It fits by sliding directly onto the cartridge body. No tools are required. The recommended tracking force is 1.8 g, within a range of 1.6 to 2.0 g. The recommended load capacitance is 150 to 300 pF with a load resistance of 47 kΩ. Made in Europe.
