The Pro-Ject Metallica Turntable is a limited edition collector’s deck produced in collaboration with the rock band Metallica, sitting in the upper tier of Pro-Ject’s Artist Collection. It combines audiophile engineering with bold visual identity, offering genuine high-fidelity vinyl playback in a distinctively finished package.
The plinth is a zero-resonance design carrying a heavy glass platter that spins on a high-precision stainless steel axle running in a bronze bushing bearing. This high-mass platter arrangement minimises speed irregularities, producing tight, accurate playback while allowing the striking turntable to be seen from above. A belt-drive mechanism with electronic speed control allows speeds of 33 and 45 RPM to be selected via a toggle switch; a separate round belt supplied in the box enables 78 RPM playback for shellac records.
The tonearm is Pro-Ject’s 8.6-inch S-shape aluminium design, fitted with an SME-standard headshell and delivered pre-adjusted with a Pick it S2 C moving-magnet cartridge. Tracking force and anti-skating are both user-adjustable, making the Metallica a genuinely capable and adaptable audiophile tool. Three height-adjustable damped aluminium feet provide a stable platform and reduce susceptibility to acoustic feedback.
As a limited edition release, the Metallica Turntable is intended for both committed vinyl enthusiasts and fans of the band seeking a high-quality, collectible audio product.
