The Pro-Ject Juke Box E sits within Pro-Ject’s all-in-one turntable range as a true plug-and-play system. Based on a modified Pro-Ject Primary platform, it combines a vinyl record player, integrated phono stage, Bluetooth receiver, line pre-amplifier, and a 2 × 50 W (4 Ω) power amplifier in a single chassis. It requires only a pair of passive speakers for a complete hi-fi system.
Drive System & Platter
The belt-drive mechanism uses a low-vibration synchronous motor with a silicone belt running around the outer edge of a 300 mm plywood platter topped with a felt mat. The main bearing consists of a stainless steel spindle in a bronze bushing, chosen for smooth, low-friction rotation. Manual speed change accommodates both 33 and 45 RPM playback, with speed variance measured at 0.8% (33 RPM) and 0.7% (45 RPM). Wow and flutter figures are 0.29% at 33 RPM and 0.27% at 45 RPM.
Tonearm & Cartridge
The 8.6″ aluminium tonearm employs sapphire bearings for low-friction pivot movement. Effective arm length is 218.5 mm with an overhang of 22.0 mm, and effective tonearm mass is 8.0 g. An Ortofon OM 5E cartridge comes pre-mounted with tracking force and anti-skating pre-adjusted at 18 mN, so no manual calibration is required out of the box. A counterweight for cartridge mass between 3 and 5.5 g is included.
Amplification & Connectivity
The integrated amplifier delivers 2 × 50 W into 4 Ω, enough to drive a wide range of bookshelf and standmount speakers. Inputs include Bluetooth 2.1 with EDR for wireless streaming from smartphones and tablets, plus a single analogue line input. Outputs comprise isolated speaker terminals, a fixed-level line output (turntable signal only) for connection to an external amplifier or headphone amp such as the Pro-Ject Head Box S2, and a dedicated phono output. All sockets are gold-plated.
Controls & Display
A built-in high-contrast display shows the active input, current volume level, and listening source at a glance. Volume is managed via a 32-step digital potentiometer for precise level adjustment, and pressing the volume knob switches between available inputs. An infrared remote control is included for convenience.
Build & Accessories
The chassis features special decoupling feet to isolate the turntable from surface vibrations. An acrylic dust cover is included to protect the platter and tonearm when not in use. The Juke Box E is available in high-gloss Black, Red, and White finishes, designed and manufactured in Europe by Pro-Ject Audio Systems.
