The Pro-Ject Headshell S is a precision-machined aluminium headshell designed as a direct replacement or upgrade for use with any tonearm fitted with an SME standard connector. Manufactured from CNC-machined aluminium, it combines a low-mass, high-rigidity construction that reduces coloration and resonance, helping modern moving-magnet cartridges to track cleanly and retrieve fine detail.
A half-inch cartridge mounting slot accepts virtually all standard cartridges, and the built-in fingerlift makes swapping cartridges straightforward. Azimuth alignment can be set precisely using the adjustment screw on the side of the shell, ensuring the stylus meets the groove at exactly the correct angle. A set of colour-coded, high-conductivity OFC headshell cables is supplied, allowing a direct connection to the tonearm clips without the need for additional wiring. If non-magnetic mounting hardware is preferred, Pro-Ject's optional Mount It screw set is compatible.
This version is finished in black and is suited to both casual listening and performance-focused analogue setups where cartridge upgrades or swaps are anticipated.
