The Pro-Ject Elvis Turntable is a limited special edition created to celebrate what would have been Elvis Presley's 90th birthday. Built on the foundations of Pro-Ject's acclaimed T2 audiophile belt-drive design, this turntable adds a stunning visual tribute: a CNC-machined plinth with a backlit reproduction of the legendary Elvis logo, as famously illuminated behind Presley during his 1968 NBC Comeback Special. The combination of serious audio engineering and iconic rock and roll imagery makes this one of the most distinctive collector's turntables Pro-Ject has produced.
Design
The plinth is precision CNC-machined and finished to accommodate LED illumination of the Elvis logo, faithfully recreating the bold lettering seen on stage during one of his most celebrated performances. The heavy, 10 mm thick glass platter is both a visual and sonic statement: its high mass produces tight, accurate rotation while allowing an unobstructed view of the belt-drive mechanism beneath. A felt mat and dust cover are included as standard.
Technical Highlights
Drive is by precision AC motor via a flat belt, which decouples the motor from the sub-platter and prevents motor vibrations from reaching the stylus. The onboard power generator creates a clean sine-wave supply for the motor, improving speed stability beyond what a standard mains-fed motor can achieve. Speed switching between 33 and 45 rpm is handled electronically via a front-mounted rocker switch, requiring no manual belt adjustment. The stainless steel axle runs in a brass bushing for low-noise, long-life bearing performance.
Tonearm and Cartridge
A 9-inch aluminium tonearm with an effective length of 230 mm and an overhang of 22 mm is fitted as standard. The supplied moving-magnet cartridge is hand-crafted in Japan and delivers a well-balanced soundstage with accurate instrument placement. A pre-fitted RCA phono cable with ground wire is included, ready to connect to any amplifier with a phono input or a separate phono stage.
