The Pro-Ject E1 Phono is an entry-level belt-drive turntable designed to make vinyl playback accessible without compromising on sound quality. Built on a CNC-machined composite fibre plinth with no hollow spaces, the E1 Phono offers excellent anti-resonance properties in a stylish, compact chassis that looks at home in any room.
At the heart of the E1 Phono is a precision belt-drive system with a damped DC motor connected to a sub-platter, which in turn drives a 300mm ABS polymer main platter. This sub-platter drive arrangement keeps vibration away from the playing surface and contributes to the clean, engaging sound. A felt mat is included to protect your records and reduce static.
The 8.6-inch tonearm features a one-piece aluminium tube, a two-point bearing assembly and a fixed headshell. Low moving mass and good electrical isolation make it well suited to musical playback, and it arrives pre-fitted with an Audio-Technica AT3600 cartridge with elliptical diamond stylus. Setup is straightforward: the turntable is supplied ready to play with minimal adjustment required.
The Phono variant adds a built-in switchable Moving Magnet phono stage, letting you connect directly to a line-level input on any amplifier or receiver. Switch the phono stage out when connecting to a dedicated external phono stage. This flexibility makes the E1 Phono an ideal first turntable for newcomers, as well as a capable second system player for experienced listeners.
Available in Gloss Black, Walnut and White finishes, the E1 Phono is handmade in Europe to Pro-Ject's exacting standards.
