Balanced Tonearm to Unbalanced Phono Stage
The Connect it Phono S RCA / MiniXLR (TB) is a phono interconnect cable designed to bridge a Pro-Ject turntable with a True Balanced (TB) MiniXLR tonearm output to a conventional, unbalanced phono stage or integrated amplifier with RCA phono inputs. The single MiniXLR connector at the turntable end plugs into the tonearm socket of compatible Pro-Ject models, while the split RCA end provides the left and right channel connections to the phono input, along with a separate earth wire for secure grounding.
OFC Copper Construction
Like all cables in the S-Line range, this cable uses an oxygen-free copper (OFC) conductor housed in a flexible polyethylene dielectric with a thermoplastic elastomer outer jacket. Cable capacitance is kept to a very low 100pF at 1.23m, which is particularly important in phono applications where excessive capacitance can roll off high-frequency detail and alter cartridge loading. All connectors use gold-plated phosphor-bronze contacts for lasting conductivity and corrosion resistance.
Semi-Symmetrical Shielding
The cable uses a semi-symmetrical shielding arrangement, with the shield connected at one end only. The blue-marked end should be connected to the receiving device, that is the phono stage or amplifier input, to ensure correct earthing and minimise hum and interference pickup. The 1.23m length suits most typical turntable installations and matching the standard cable supplied with compatible Pro-Ject turntables.
Compatible Pro-Ject Turntables
This cable is suited to Pro-Ject turntables with a MiniXLR True Balanced tonearm output, including the Debut PRO, X1 B, X2 B, and other models in the X-series and Debut series equipped with a TB-designated tonearm. The 2024 Edition reflects current production and updated packaging. The cable is hand-assembled in Europe to Pro-Ject's S-Line quality standard.
