Standard-Tier Phono Cable from Pro-Ject
The Connect it Phono S RCA is the standard S-tier phono interconnect in Pro-Ject's cable range, sitting between the entry-level E and the premium DS cables. Designed specifically for connecting a turntable's tonearm output to a phono stage, it uses an oxygen-free copper (OFC) conductor to ensure clean, accurate signal transfer with minimal colouration. The very low cable capacitance of 100pF keeps the signal open and detailed, which is particularly important in the sensitive phono signal path.
OFC Conductors and Gold-Plated Connectors
The cable uses a flexible polyethylene dielectric and a thermoplastic elastomer jacket for long-term reliability and ease of routing. The gold-plated phosphor-bronze RCA connectors provide excellent long-term conductivity, resisting oxidation and maintaining a firm, reliable connection. These connectors are used consistently across the entire S-Line range for their durability and audio performance.
Semi-Symmetrical Construction
Like all phono and line cables in the S-Line (excluding the True Balanced variants), the Connect it Phono S RCA uses a semi-symmetrical shielding arrangement, meaning the shielding is connected at one end only. The blue-marked end should always be connected to the central earthing point or the receiving end, such as the phono stage input, to minimise hum and interference pickup. At 1.23m, it suits most typical turntable installations without unnecessary excess length.
