True Balanced Tonearm Cable from Pro-Ject
The Connect it Phono S MiniXLR/MiniXLR is a specialist tonearm cable designed to carry the True Balanced connection from a compatible Pro-Ject turntable tonearm output directly to a balanced phono stage input. Both ends terminate in gold-plated MiniXLR connectors (3-pin), which is the standard connector format for Pro-Ject's True Balanced tonearm outputs. Because the shielding is connected at both ends, this cable operates as a fully balanced signal path rather than the semi-symmetrical arrangement used by the standard RCA phono cables in the Connect it S range.
OFC Copper Construction
Like all cables in the S-Line range, the Connect it Phono S MiniXLR/MiniXLR uses an oxygen-free copper (OFC) conductor housed in a flexible polyethylene dielectric with a thermoplastic elastomer outer jacket. The very low cable capacitance of 100pF at 1.23m helps preserve the subtle high-frequency detail that is critical for accurate phono reproduction. All connectors across the S-Line, including these MiniXLR plugs, are made from gold-plated phosphor-bronze for lasting conductivity and corrosion resistance.
True Balanced Connection
To make use of the True Balanced connection, the connected Pro-Ject turntable must be fitted with an MC cartridge or the Pick it PRO Balanced cartridge, and the receiving phono stage must accept balanced MiniXLR inputs. The 2024 Edition reflects updated packaging and current production. The cable is hand-assembled in Europe to Pro-Ject's S-Line quality standard, and is also available with an RCA to MiniXLR configuration for connecting a balanced tonearm to an unbalanced phono stage.
