The Pro-Ject Connect it Phono S 5P / MiniXLR (TB) is a dedicated phono interconnect cable designed for use with Pro-Ject turntables featuring a Turntable Balanced (TB) output. The 5-pin DIN connector at the turntable end carries the balanced signal from the tonearm, while the miniXLR connector at the opposite end connects to a balanced phono input on a preamplifier or phono stage, preserving the integrity of the balanced signal path throughout.
The Connect it Phono S range uses an oxygen-free copper (OFC) conductor, which ensures clean signal transmission with minimal loss. Cable capacitance is kept exceptionally low at 100pF for the standard 1.23m length, which helps maintain the natural, open character of the phono signal. All connectors in the S-Line series feature gold-plated phosphor-bronze contacts, chosen for their excellent conductivity and long-term resistance to corrosion and oxidation.
This cable is semi-symmetrical in construction, meaning the shielding is connected at one end only. The blue-marked end should always be connected to the central grounding point or the receiving end (the phono stage or amplifier input) to ensure correct earthing. The flexible Thermoplastic Elastomer jacket allows easy routing in tight spaces behind equipment, while the Polyethylene dielectric keeps signal losses to a minimum.
Compatible Pro-Ject turntables with TB outputs include the X1 B, X2 B, and other models in the X-series and Debut series equipped with balanced output tonearms. The 2024 version of this cable continues the same proven conductor geometry and connector specification as its predecessor, manufactured and assembled in Europe.
The Connect it Phono S 5P / MiniXLR (TB) is supplied at a standard length of 1.23m. The 2023 version is also available for reference; see the related variation below.
