Reference-Grade Phono Interconnect
The Pro-Ject Connect it Phono RS RCA is the reference-level cable in the RS line, designed specifically for turntable-to-phono-stage connections where signal levels are in the millivolt range. Every element of the cable has been chosen to preserve the delicate phono signal with complete neutrality, from the matched crystal silver conductors to the precision-engineered connectors.
Matched Crystal Silver Conductors
Unlike copper cables, the pure silver conductors in the RS do not attenuate high frequencies, resulting in a more detailed and open sound stage. The conductors are precisely matched across the cable pair, ensuring consistent performance on both left and right channels. Silver's superior conductivity over the full frequency range means all musical information is preserved without colouration.
Optimised for Low-Level Phono Signals
The ultra-low capacitance of 71pF at 1.23m is particularly important for phono-stage connections, where high cable capacitance can roll off high frequencies and interact negatively with cartridge loading. The high-flex cell polyethylene dielectric contributes to keeping capacitance to a minimum whilst maintaining mechanical flexibility.
Superior Shielding and Construction
A helical silver-plated OFC copper shield with a conductive sub-jacket provides excellent protection against radio frequency and electromagnetic interference, which is critical given the extremely low signal levels involved in phono playback. The special halogen-free TPE outer jacket is both flexible and durable, and safe for enclosed spaces.
Rhodium-Plated RS Connectors
The RS-line connectors feature rhodium-plated copper signal pins housed in a non-conductive carbon body. Rhodium plating offers excellent resistance to oxidation and corrosion, and provides a harder contact surface than gold, ensuring a reliable long-term connection. The cable is handmade in Europe to Pro-Ject's exacting quality standards.
