The Pro-Ject Connect it Phono RS 5P/XLR is a premium tonearm cable designed to connect a 5-pin DIN tonearm output directly to a balanced phono stage with XLR inputs. Part of the RS (Reference Silver) cable range, it enables true balanced connection between compatible Pro-Ject turntables and balanced phono stages, unlocking the maximum performance from your analogue source.
Unlike copper, silver does not attenuate high frequencies, resulting in a more detailed and open soundstage. This is especially significant for the tiny phono signals in the millivolt range, where the cable's ultra-low capacitance (71pF at 1.23m) is essential for clean, accurate signal transmission. The balanced XLR connection offers additional immunity to interference compared to an unbalanced RCA connection.
The shielding is achieved using a pure silver-coated OFC helix with a conductive sub-jacket, providing excellent protection against interference whilst maintaining outstanding cable flexibility. All RS-Line connectors feature rhodium-plated copper signal pins housed in a non-conductive carbon body. Note: to use the True Balanced Connection, your Pro-Ject turntable must be equipped with an MC cartridge or the Pick it PRO Balanced.
