The Connect it LS DS sits at the top of Pro-Ject’s loudspeaker cable range, designed to be a worthy partner for the brand’s premium turntable and amplifier systems. Manufactured in Europe, it is sold as a complete stereo set pre-terminated with silver-plated full-metal banana plugs at both ends, ready to connect amplifier to speakers without further preparation.
Construction
The cable uses eight 0.75mm² solid-core conductors arranged in a twisted configuration. Solid-core geometry minimises the skin effect that can affect stranded cables at audio frequencies, while the twisted arrangement reduces susceptibility to external interference and crosstalk between the two channels. The conductors are made from high-purity oxygen-free copper (HP-OFC), a grade of copper refined to remove impurities and achieve higher conductivity than standard electrolytic copper. Each conductor is individually insulated in polyethylene, chosen for its low dielectric constant and minimal signal interaction.
Connectors
Each end of the stereo set is fitted with silver-plated full-metal banana plugs. The silver plating provides a low-resistance, corrosion-resistant contact surface at the amplifier and speaker binding posts. The banana plug format is compatible with all standard 4mm binding posts and allows for a firm, tool-free connection.
Performance
The low-impedance design minimises signal loss across the cable run, while the twisted solid-core construction reduces distortion and promotes a clear, open, and neutral sound presentation. Pro-Ject describes the sonic character as homogeneous, making it suitable for extended listening sessions without fatigue.
