The Pro-Ject Connect it Line DS XLR 1.85m is a balanced analogue interconnect from Pro-Ject's Design Series cable range, positioned a step above the entry-level Connect it E and S lines. Terminated with full-size three-pin XLR plugs at each end, it is intended to carry line-level signal between balanced sources and amplification — for example linking a phono stage or DAC equipped with XLR outputs to a balanced preamplifier or integrated amplifier.
Internally the cable uses two 0.2mm² 99.99% oxygen-free copper conductors insulated with highly flexible cell polyethylene dielectric, a combination chosen to keep capacitance low and preserve detail across the audio band. The conductors are wrapped in a helical OFC copper screen with an additional carbon-saturated conductive sub-jacket, providing protection against radio-frequency and electromagnetic interference while keeping the cable flexible enough to route neatly behind a rack.
The outer jacket is a thermoplastic elastomer for durability, and both XLR connectors use silver-plated signal pins, which offer higher conductivity and lower contact resistance than gold plating. At 1.85m this is the longest of the three current sizes, giving plenty of slack for separate stacks or systems where source and amplifier sit at opposite ends of a rack. The result is a well-engineered balanced interconnect that lets the source equipment do the talking, suitable for any system where a true balanced XLR connection is available.
