The Pro-Ject AC/DC Turntable is a Limited Special Edition belt-drive turntable created in collaboration with the legendary rock band AC/DC. Inspired by the band's iconic lightning bolt logo, the tonearm design and angular plinth styling directly reference AC/DC's visual identity. The turntable sits at the premium end of Pro-Ject's range of specialist belt-drive designs and is handmade in Europe.
Plinth and Drive
The plinth is constructed from 28mm MDF, providing a rigid, low-resonance foundation for the drive system. A flat silicon belt connects the AC motor to the precision acrylic sub-platter, whose stainless steel axle sits in a brass bushing for smooth, stable rotation. The glass platter is a heavy, zero-resonance design: its high mass encourages tight, accurate playback speeds whilst allowing the internal construction to remain visible through the transparent surface. Red LED lighting beneath the acrylic sub-platter adds a distinctive visual element that references the band's stage lighting aesthetic. A felt mat is included.
Tonearm
The 8.6-inch straight acrylic tonearm is a completely new design developed specifically for this turntable, following the lines of the AC/DC logo. The arm has an effective length of 218.5mm, a low effective mass of 6.0g, and an overhang of 18.5mm. Spring anti-skating is included. The low-resonance construction is well matched to the supplied Ortofon 2M Red moving-magnet cartridge, which comes pre-adjusted from the factory.
Connectivity
Gold-plated RCA output sockets provide the phono output connection. A Connect-it Phono E RCA semi-symmetrical cable is included: the shielding is connected at one end only, and the yellow-marked plug should always be inserted into the receiving component. A 7-inch single adapter is also included in the box. The turntable operates from the supplied 15V DC / 0.8A power supply, with a power consumption of 4W in use and 0W on standby.
Three Spike Feet
Three height-adjustable spike feet decouple the chassis from the supporting surface, reducing the transmission of external vibration into the drive system and bearing.
