The Paradigm Millenia LP XL is the largest speaker in Paradigm’s Millenia LP on-wall range, sitting above the smaller LP 2 and alongside the LP Trio three-channel soundbar. Engineered in partnership with Canada’s National Research Council (NRC), the LP XL is designed for larger rooms and flat-panel displays of 60″ and above, delivering deeper bass extension and higher output than its smaller sibling while maintaining the same ultra-slim 44 mm profile.
Driver Technology
The LP XL is a 7-driver, 2-way bass-reflex design combining three powered drivers with four passive radiators. The high-frequency section uses a single 25 mm S-PAL (Satin-Anodised Pure-Aluminium) dome tweeter, ferro-fluid damped and cooled, mounted behind a perforated aluminium mesh screen guard with an integrated phase ring for wide, even dispersion. The advanced motor structure incorporates an extruded aluminium heatsink to manage thermal build-up during sustained listening.
Two 114 mm anodised unibody midrange/bass cones handle the lower frequencies, each driven by a 37 mm high-temperature aluminium voice coil in a neodymium magnet motor assembly. The suspension system pairs a Nomex spider with a Nitrile-Butadiene rubber surround for long-term durability, while a tempered steel heatfin basket provides integrated motor heat dissipation.
Passive Radiator Bass System
Four 114 mm anodised unibody passive radiators extend low-frequency output to 60 Hz (DIN) — 15 Hz deeper than the LP 2’s 75 Hz floor. Each radiator is precision-tuned and uses the same Nitrile-Butadiene rubber surround as the powered drivers, enabling the LP XL to deliver room-filling bass from a cabinet just 44 mm deep. The additional radiator count over the LP 2 (four versus two) increases the total radiating area, allowing the LP XL to move more air and blend more effectively with a subwoofer in larger listening spaces.
Construction & Installation
The enclosure is a moulded high-gloss polymer chassis finished in black gloss with brushed aluminium accents. At 867 mm tall, 162 mm wide and just 41 mm deep, the LP XL sits virtually flush against the wall. It can be wall-mounted directly or placed on a credenza or AV stand using the supplied table stands. The speaker is sold individually and can be configured as a stereo left/right pair, or a third unit added as a centre channel for a home cinema system.
Millenia LP Range
The Millenia LP range comprises three models designed for different room sizes and display formats. The LP 2 is the most compact at 635 mm, suited to smaller flat panels. The LP XL extends to 867 mm with two additional drivers for deeper bass and higher output. The LP Trio is a 1,219 mm three-channel soundbar combining left, centre and right channels in a single enclosure.
