The Ortofon Stylus Concorde Music Red is the replacement stylus for the Concorde Music Red cartridge and the entry point of the Concorde Music range. Sitting below the Bronze, Blue and Black styli, it pairs an elliptical diamond with an aluminium cantilever to deliver an open, dynamic sound with a slight touch of warmth. The same stylus also fits any Concorde Music cartridge body, so a Red stylus can be used as a direct replacement, and a Bronze, Blue or Black stylus can be fitted to the Red body as a future upgrade.
Elliptical Stylus
The elliptical profile presents a narrower contact area with the groove wall than a spherical tip, tracing groove modulations more accurately and recovering more high-frequency detail. The diamond is tipped to a tip radius of r/R 8/18 µm, which gives the Red stylus its accurate retrieval of musical information while keeping it well suited to everyday listening.
Aluminium Cantilever
An aluminium tube cantilever transmits groove modulations to the generator with low mass and high stiffness. Combined with the elliptical tip, it gives the Red stylus its balance of dynamics, clarity and rhythmic drive.
Concorde Music System
All Concorde Music styli are interchangeable with all Concorde Music cartridge bodies, so the Red stylus can be used as a direct replacement on a Concorde Music Red, or fitted as a starting point on a Bronze, Blue or Black body. The cartridge itself plugs straight into any SME-style headshell or integrated headshell tonearm without alignment tools, making it equally at home in a hi-fi or DJ setup. Bronze, Blue and Black styli are available as upgrade paths within the same range.
