Bright 1080p Projector for Gaming, Sports and Movies

The Optoma HD29HLV is a high-brightness 1080p DLP projector designed for versatile home entertainment. With 4,500 lumens output, it delivers vivid, true-to-life images even in well-lit rooms — making it ideal for daytime sports viewing, gaming sessions with friends, or movie nights without needing to close the curtains.

Full HD with HDR Compatibility

At its core, the HD29HLV uses single-chip DLP technology with a native 1920 x 1080 resolution. While the projector is natively Full HD, it accepts 4K UHD input signals and is HDR10 compatible, allowing it to process HDR metadata for improved contrast and detail when receiving content from 4K sources such as streaming devices, Blu-ray players and games consoles.

Colour performance is built around Optoma’s Amazing Colour technology with Rec.709 colour gamut coverage — the international HDTV standard for accurate cinematic reproduction. A contrast ratio of 50,000:1 ensures deep blacks alongside the high brightness output.

Low-Latency Gaming

The HD29HLV supports 1080p at 120Hz with an Enhanced Gaming Mode that reduces input lag to just 8.4ms — fast enough for competitive and reaction-based gaming. A separate Game mode optimises contrast and colour saturation for an immersive gaming experience on the big screen.

Full 3D Support

The projector supports Full 3D from virtually any 3D source, including 3D Blu-ray players, 3D broadcasting and current-generation games consoles. Side-by-side, frame-packing and over-under 3D formats are all supported at various resolutions up to 1080p.

Flexible Installation

A 1.3x manual zoom lens with a throw ratio of 1.12:1 to 1.47:1 allows the HD29HLV to project images from 0.78m to 7.66m diagonal at distances between 1m and 7.5m. Vertical keystone correction of ±40° and a vertical lens shift with 116% offset help achieve a properly aligned image without repositioning the projector. At just 2.91 kg and measuring 316 x 244 x 108 mm, it is compact and portable enough to move between rooms or take to a friend’s house.

Connectivity

Two HDMI inputs are provided: one HDMI 2.0 port for 4K and HDR sources, and one HDMI 1.4a port with 3D support. A VGA input (with YPbPr/RGB support) caters for legacy devices. Audio connectivity includes a 3.5mm input and output, while a USB-A port provides 1.5A power for streaming sticks and dongles. RS-232 control is available for integration into automated setups. An integrated 10W speaker handles audio independently, though the 3.5mm output allows connection to an external sound system.

Lamp and Running Costs

The 240W lamp is rated at 4,000 hours in Bright mode, extending to 10,000 hours in Eco mode, 12,000 hours in Dynamic mode and up to 15,000 hours in Eco+ mode. Typical noise output is 26 dB, and standby power consumption is just 0.5W. An optional WHD200 wireless dongle (sold separately) enables cable-free 1080p and 3D streaming from source devices.
